كريمٌ متى ضل قصاده

فطيب الثناء عليه دليلُ

فطيب الثناء عليه دليلُ

A generous man: whenever those seeking him lose their way,

Noble is he who went astray,

The sweetness of his praise is their guide.

For good praise of him is proof.

محياه كالشمس عند الضحى

محياه كالشمس عند الضحى

ويا حسنه في المعالي أصيلُ

ويا حسنه في المعالي أصيلُ

His face is like the sun at forenoon,

His life is like the dawn sun,

And how splendid he is—noble in lofty virtues!

And his virtues most sublime.

طربت له إذ وجدت الغنى

طربت له إذ وجدت الغنى

وقد جاد لي والغمامُ الرسيل

وقد جاد لي والغمامُ الرسيل

I rejoiced in him when I found wealth,

I rejoiced when I found wealth,

And he and the raincloud, his peer, had given generously to me.

As he gave generously like pouring rain.
