A gazelle of a herd—love verse about him grew sweet to me.
A graceful gazelle among a herd in which desire enticed me,
And my abasement grew sweet, while my honor, for his sake, was brought low.
Her alluring charm delighted me, though once remote

If one day he sways and his graceful form bends,
If she but turned her charms to me one day,
Then have you ever seen a lush bough of the ban tree?
Have you ever seen a moist curved branch of the arrak tree?
