أيا فاضلاً ترنو الأفاضلُ نحوهُ

أيا فاضلاً ترنو الأفاضلُ نحوهُ

وتشكر في جمع المناقب تصريفه

وتشكر في جمع المناقب تصريفه

O virtuous man toward whom the virtuous gaze,

O virtuous one, the virtuous aspire towards you,

And praise his skill in gathering noble qualities,

And thank you for bringing together these virtues.

إذا كنت بالإحسان ثقلت كاهلي

إذا كنت بالإحسان ثقلت كاهلي

فلا عجبٌ أن كنت أطلب تخفيفه

فلا عجبٌ أن كنت أطلب تخفيفه

If you have weighed down my shoulders with kindness,

If acts of kindness have weighed down my shoulders,

Then it is no wonder that I seek to lighten that burden.

It's no wonder that I seek to lighten the load.
