وماand not الشرارthe sparks غيرother than قلبيmy heart الطائرflying
وما الشرار غير قلبي الطائر
I have ribs bent over the embers of ghada wood,
I have ribs that bend over the embers of sorrow,
and the sparks are nothing but my flying heart.
And the sparks are none other than my fluttering heart.

لأنها تجري على محاجري
And an eye whose tears have stumbled,
And eyelashes that stumbled over their tears,
because they run over my eye sockets.
For they flow over my cheeks.
