قال خصري أعداه وهو ضعيفُ

I said, “Why has the breeze fallen ill?”

I said, why has the breeze become sick tonight?

He said, “My frail waist infected it.”

It said, my waist has been hurt by it, for it is weak.

قلت من أجل ذا الغصون تراه

قلت من أجل ذا الغصون تراه

وهو ما بينها عليك يطوفُ

وهو ما بينها عليك يطوفُ

I said, “That is why the boughs see it

I said, is it because of these branches you see it?

as it circles around you among them.”

While it wanders amongst them, upon you it swoops.
