حديثهtalk of it فيamong الناسthe people أسمارُevening conversations
حديثه في الناس أسمارُ
A stipend from your generosity reached my brother;
My brother gained from your generosity a salary
Talk of it among the people is their evening conversation.
His talk amongst people, a night conversation
فانهزمso was routed الفقرpoverty وولىand fled بهbecause of it
فانهزم الفقر وولى به
لأنهbecause it فيin القلبreversal بتارُa cleaving sword
لأنه في القلب بتارُ
So poverty was routed and fled because of it,
So poverty was defeated and turned away from him
For, when reversed, it is a cleaving sword.
For it, in his heart, a humiliation
