May I be ransom for a patron who thought me poor,
I sacrifice myself for my Master who visited me,
then showered me with overflowing bounty.
And favored me with abundant rain,
لمdid not يرضbe content بالأرضwith the earth علىin keeping with قدرهhis stature
فجادso he generously bestowed ليon me بالفلكthe celestial sphere الدائرِrevolving
He deemed the earth too little for his stature,
He was not satisfied with giving me what I deserved,
so he bestowed on me the revolving celestial sphere.
So he bestowed on me the revolving heavens,
فراحso it became مدحيmy praise فيin علاthe heights of مجدهhis glory
مشتهراًrenowned كالمثلlike the proverb السائرwidely repeated
Thus my praise, amid the heights of his glory,
Thus my praise of his glorious eminence soared,
became renowned, like a widely repeated proverb.
And spread far and wide like a well-known proverb.
