فغدا لسان الحال منه يقول
The breeze dragged its trailing hems across the pool;
The breeze dragged its train across the pond
And so the voice of its condition began to say:
And so the state of affairs began to say
مثلlike البغيthe prostitute إذاwhen خلتshe was devoid منof اجرةٍa fee
مثل البغي إذا خلت من اجرةٍ
طرفيmy edge يحلis lawful وأسفليand my lower part مبلولُwet
طرفي يحل وأسفلي مبلولُ
Like a prostitute when she has no fee,
Like a camel when it has no calf
My edge is lawful, and my lower part is wet.
My eyes wander while my lower half is drenched
