يا عجبا من معشر سكرهم

أثبتهم في عالم المحو
How strange—a company whose drunkenness
Oh, wonder at the drunkard's band
Has established them in the realm of effacement!
Their stupor fixed in a hazy land
وكلand every كأسcup شمسهاits sun أشرقتhas shone forth
وكل كأس شمسها أشرقت
ويومهمand their day عارٍbare منof الصحوsobriety; clear skies
ويومهم عارٍ من الصحو
And every cup’s sun has shone forth,
Each cup's sun rose and shone bright
Yet their day is bare of sobriety.
Their days shamed for they wake not right
