He recalled a memory of Qaṭāh and grew weary,

and mourned Dawdāh, a deserted place and playground.

She indeed bore ʿAwf of spear-thrusts and Mālik,

and ʿAmr of lofty honor, and noble al-Ḥārith—

men with blood and bounty in their hands,

all but dripping down upon their enemies.
