وضيئلة تختال في حركاتها
عندduring الطرادthe chase وتنطويand curls herself up كالمختفيlike one hiding
عند الطراد وتنطوي كالمختفي
And a tiny creature struts in her movements
She sways with dainty steps, coy when pursued,
during the chase, and curls up like one hiding;
Folds herself away like one hiding from view.
وتجسand feels بالرفقwith gentleness الترابthe soil إذاwhen مَشَتshe walks
وتجس بالرفق التراب إذا مَشَت
جسَّthe feeling of الطيبthe kindly one (likely intended: the physician) يدَthe hand of العليلِthe sick person المدنفِgravely ill
جسَّ الطيب يدَ العليلِ المدنفِ
and gently feels the soil as she walks,
She gently brushes the dust when she treads,
as the kindly one feels the hand of a gravely ill patient.
As a fragrance caresses a sick person's hand.
