إذاwhen حَيَّةٌa serpent أعْيَىbaffled الرُّقَاةَthe charm-healers دَوَاؤُهَاits cure
إذا حَيَّةٌ أعْيَى الرُّقَاةَ دَوَاؤُهَا
بَعَثْنَاwe sent لَهَاto it تَحْتَbeneath الظَّلاَمِthe darkness ابْنَson of مُلْحَمِMulham
بَعَثْنَا لَهَا تَحْتَ الظَّلاَمِ ابْنَ مُلْحَمِ
When a serpent’s cure baffled the charmers,
When the serpent blinds the charmers
we sent Ibn Mulham to it under cover of darkness.
We send to it in the darkness the son of Mulham
