    Indeed, no misery befalls al-Araqim,

so long as God guards the soul of Kurdus.

The horsemen of mighty Taghlib gave him his lineage,

those chieftains and sons of chieftains.

What of every commander through whom doubt is cast on

sound faith and an unclouded judgement?

And toward Ali, with a measure surpassing his, when [wording unclear]

treachery became manifest in repelling the weaklings.

What an excellent champion for the people of truth—as is known

to Ma'add's noblest—against the supporters of Iblis.

Tell those who have gone ever further in harassing him:

Indeed, young camels are not like massive camels.

Never in all time will you equal Kurdus and his clan—

the sons of Tha'labah the camel-driver, and the man with pale camels.
