If God bears enmity toward people of baseness and weakness,

then may He bear enmity toward Banu al-Ajlan, the clan of Ibn Muqbil.

A little tribe that never betrays a covenant,

nor wrongs people by so much as a mustard seed.

Nor do they approach the water except in the evening,

when the water-seekers have departed from every watering place.

The predatory dogs spurn their flesh,

and eat of Ka'b, Awf, and Nahshal.

And he was named al-Ajlan only because he said:

“Take the wooden bowl and do the milking, O slave, and hurry!”

Those are brothers of the accursed one, and the family of the

baseborn man, and the clan of the weak, groveling man.
