الدَهرُtime حالانِtwo states هَمٌّdistress بَعدَهُafter it فَرَجٌrelief

Time has two states: distress followed by relief,
Time has two states, worry then relief
and respite followed by distress with torment.
And relief is followed by worry in torment
فَإِنَّfor indeed حَمدكَyour praise مَنone whom لَمnot تَبلُهُyou have tested him صَلَفٌpresumption
وَإِنَّand indeed ذَمَّكَyour censure بَعدَafter الحَمدthe praise تَكذيبُa contradiction
For your praise of one you have not tested is presumption,
For praising You is by one not touched by affliction
and your censure after praise contradicts that praise.
And blaming You after praise is denial
