اِستَمِع يا بُنَيَّ مِن وَعظِ شَيخ
عَجَمَhas tested الدَهرَtime فيin السِنينَthe years الخَواليgone by
عَجَمَ الدَهرَ في السِنينَ الخَوالي
Listen, my dear son, to the counsel of an old man
Listen, my son, to the preaching of an old man
who has tested time in years gone by.
