لو تَمَّ بكم كما رَجوْنَا وَطَرُ
The garden is lovely, bright of countenance and fresh.
The garden's freshness is radiant as dawn
If only, through you, a wish were fulfilled as we hoped!
If you would come to us as we had hoped
فالوردُso the rose إلىtoward الطريقِthe road أصْغَىinclined أُذُناًan ear
فالوردُ إلى الطريقِ أصْغَى أُذُناً
والنَّرْجِسُand the narcissus عَيْنُهits eye غَدَتْhas become تنْتظِرُis waiting
والنَّرْجِسُ عَيْنُه غَدَتْ تنْتظِرُ
So the rose has inclined an ear toward the road,
Then roses would bend their ears to the path
And the narcissus's eye is now waiting.
And narcissus' eyes would wait and watch
