لَيتَwould that شِعريmy knowledge وَلِلأُمورِand for affairs قَرارٌa settled outcome
لَيتَ شِعري وَلِلأُمورِ قَرارٌ
هَلwhether بَلَغناwe have reached مَدىthe extent of رِضاthe approval of الحُجّاجِal-Hajjaj
هَل بَلَغنا مَدى رِضا الحُجّاجِ
Would that I knew—and affairs have their outcome—
Would that I knew if things would stabilize,
whether we have attained the full measure of al-Hajjaj’s approval.
Have we reached the satisfaction of the pilgrims?
