يا راقِدَ الليلِ انتَبِه
إنindeed الخطوبَcalamities لهاthey have سُرىnight journeys
إن الخطوبَ لها سُرى
O sleeper of the night, awaken!
O sleeper of the night, awaken,
Indeed, calamities travel by night.
For fates move on apace;
ثِقةُtrust الفتىof the young man بزمانِهِin his times
ثِقةُ الفتى بزمانِهِ
ثِقةٌa trust مُحلَّلَةُloosened العُرىthe bonds
ثِقةٌ مُحلَّلَةُ العُرى
A young man's trust in his times
A youth's trust in his time
is a trust whose bonds are loosened.
Is confidence threadbare.
