ياO ملكاًking لستُI am not بناسيهِforgetting him
يا ملكاً لستُ بناسيهِ
وليتَنيand would that I بالنفسِwith my life أفديهِmight ransom him
وليتَني بالنفسِ أفديهِ
O king whom I will not forget,
O king, I do not forget him
And would that I could ransom him with my own life.
I wish I could ransom him with my soul
باكِيَتيmy mourner منfrom جَزَعٍanguish أقصِريcease
باكِيَتي من جَزَعٍ أقصِري
قدindeed غَلِقَhas become forfeit الرَّهنُthe pledge بماfor what فيهis owed on it
قد غَلِقَ الرَّهنُ بما فيه
You who weep for me in anguish, cease:
Restrain my weeping out of despair
The pledge has been forfeited for what is owed on it.
The pledge has been closed on what it contains
