My body has wasted away, and sickness has brought it to ruin,

Because of a clan who departed from the city of the Sanctuary.

My heart yearns for her whenever I remember her,

And I have recalled no longing that returned from nearby,

Except yearning for her; indeed, she is a young gazelle,

Like the sun, soft-limbed and full-figured, gentle in disposition.

God, Lord of humankind, favored her when she was created

Over women endowed with prudence and generosity.
