إِنَّindeed امرأَa man تَعتادُهُrevisit him ذِكَرٌmemories
إِنَّ امرأَ تَعتادُهُ ذِكَرٌ
مِنهاamong them ثَلاثُthree مِنىًMina لَذوtruly possessed of صَبرِpatience
مِنها ثَلاثُ مِنىً لَذو صَبرِ
Surely a man whom memories revisit—
Three stays at Mina among them—is truly patient.
وَمَواقِفٌand halts بِالمَشعَرَينِat the two sacred sites لَهاof hers
وَمَواقِفٌ بِالمَشعَرَينِ لَها
وَمَناظِرُand sights الجَمَراتِthe Jamarat والنَحرِand the sacrifice
وَمَناظِرُ الجَمَراتِ والنَحرِ
And her halts at the two sacred sites,
And the sights of the Jamarat and the sacrifice,
وَإِفاضَةُand the streaming forth الرُكبانِthe riders خَلفَهُمbehind them
وَإِفاضَةُ الرُكبانِ خَلفَهُم
مِثلَlike الغَمامِthe clouds أَرَذَّrained lightly بِالقَطرِwith droplets
مِثلَ الغَمامِ أَرَذَّ بِالقَطرِ
And the riders streaming forth behind them,
Like clouds shedding a fine rain,
حَتّىuntil استَلَمنَthey touched الرُكنَthe Corner فيat أُنُفٍthe beginning
حَتّى استَلَمنَ الرُكنَ في أُنُفٍ
مِنof ليلَهُنَّtheir night يَطأَنَthey tread فيin الأَزرِthe waist-wraps
مِن ليلَهُنَّ يَطأَنَ في الأَزرِ
Until they touched the Corner at the start
Of their night, treading in their wraps.
يَقعُدنَthey sit down فيduring التطوافِthe circling آوِsome- نَةًtimes
يَقعُدنَ في التطوافِ آوِ نَةً
وَيَطُفنَand they circle أَحياناًsometimes عَلىwith فَترِlanguor
وَيَطُفنَ أَحياناً عَلى فَترِ
They sit at times during the circling,
And at times circle languidly.
فَفَرَغنَthen they finished مِنwith سَبعٍseven circuits وَقَدand already جُهِدَتwere exhausted
فَفَرَغنَ مِن سَبعٍ وَقَد جُهِدَت
أَحشاؤُهُنَّtheir insides مَوائِلَslanting الخُمرِthe veils
أَحشاؤُهُنَّ مَوائِلَ الخُمرِ
Then they finished seven circuits, exhausted
To the core, their veils askew.
