إِذاif أَفِنَتshe is milked at will أَروىquenches the thirst of عِيالَكِyour household أَفنِهاher milking at will
إِذا أَفِنَت أَروى عِيالَكِ أَفنِها
وَإِنand if حَيَنَتshe is milked at set times أَربىexceeds عَلىbeyond الوَطبِthe milk-skin حينُهاher yield at set milking times
وَإِن حَيَنَت أَربى عَلى الوَطبِ حينُها
If she is milked at will, her yield quenches your household’s thirst;
When your life has ebbed, water your family, give them drink
And if she is milked at set times, her yield overflows the milk-skin.
And if it flows, let it flow high upon the dais
