أُنبِئتُI was informed أَنَّthat الزَبرَقانَal-Zibriqan يَسُبُّنيhe reviles me
أُنبِئتُ أَنَّ الزَبرَقانَ يَسُبُّني
سَفَهاًfoolishly وَيَكرَهُand he hates ذوpossessor of الحِرَينِthe two vulvas خِصاليmy qualities
سَفَهاً وَيَكرَهُ ذو الحِرَينِ خِصالي
I have been told that al-Zibriqan reviles me,
I'm told that Zubraqan insults me
foolishly, and the man with two vulvas hates my qualities.
As an idiot, and he who has two swords dislikes my qualities
أَفَلاwill … not, then? يُفاخِرُنيhe vies with me in boasting لِيَعلَمَso that he may know أَيُّناwhich of us
أَفَلا يُفاخِرُني لِيَعلَمَ أَيُّنا
أَدنىnearer لِأَكرَمَto the noblest سُؤدُدٍeminence وَفَعالِand deeds
أَدنى لِأَكرَمَ سُؤدُدٍ وَفَعالِ
Will he not vie with me in boasting, to learn which of us
Why doesn't he compete with me so he knows
is nearer to the noblest eminence and deeds?
Which of us is closer to the most generous of men and deeds
وَأَبوكَand your father بَدرٌBadr كانَwas مُشتَرَطَone who stipulated as payment الخُصىtesticles
وَأَبوكَ بَدرٌ كانَ مُشتَرَطَ الخُصى
وَأَبيand my father الجَوادُthe generous رَبيعَةُRabi'a بنُson of قِتالِQital
وَأَبي الجَوادُ رَبيعَةُ بنُ قِتالِ
And your father Badr used to demand testicles as his fee,
While your father Badr's valor was disputed
while my father is the generous Rabi'a, son of Qital.
My father is the generous Rabia ibn Qital
