مَدَدتُ بِرَحمٍ عَندَ حَنظَلَ أَبتَغي
بِهاthrough it الوُدَّaffection وَالقُربىand closeness فَضَلَّbut was lost ضَلالُهاits loss
بِها الوُدَّ وَالقُربى فَضَلَّ ضَلالُها
I reached out to Hanzal through kinship, seeking
through it affection and closeness—but it came to nothing.
