أَدّوا إِلى رَوحِ بنِ حَس

Deliver to Rawḥ, son of Ḥas-
sān, son of Ḥāritha, son of Mundhir,
كَوماءَa high-humped she-camel مِدفَأَةًfat and thick-coated كَأَنas though (word continues)
كَوماءَ مِدفَأَةً كَأَن
نَcompletion of “as though” ضَرُوَّهاher udder حَمّاءَa dark pool أَجفَرAjfar
نَ ضَرُوَّها حَمّاءَ أَجفَر
a high-humped, fat, thick-coated she-camel, as though
her udder were the dark pool of Ajfar.
تَأبىshe refuses إِلىto بَصَصٍa scant amount of milk تَسُحshe pours out (word continues)
تَأبى إِلى بَصَصٍ تَسُح
حُcompletion of “she pours out” المَحضَpure milk بِاللَبَنِwith milk الغَضَنفَرthick
حُ المَحضَ بِاللَبَنِ الغَضَنفَر
She will not dwindle to a scant yield, but pours
pure milk in a thick flow.
