O you who announce jurisprudence’s death to its people,

If Yaqub has died—and he does not know—

Jurisprudence has not died; rather, it

Has been transferred from one breast to another.

    Yaqub imparted it to Yusuf,

And it passed from goodness to purity.

So it abides; then, when he lies buried,

He will rest, and jurisprudence will rest in a grave.
