فَلَمso I did not أَجزِهِrepay him إِلّاexcept المَودَّةَaffection جاهِداًstriving my utmost
فَلَم أَجزِهِ إِلّا المَودَّةَ جاهِداً
وَحَسبُكَand enough for you مِنّيfrom me أَنthat أُوَدَّI be loved فَأَجهَداand so I exert myself
وَحَسبُكَ مِنّي أَن أُوَدَّ فَأَجهَدا
So, striving my utmost, I repaid him with nothing but affection;
I repaid him with naught but affection, striving my utmost,
And enough for you from me is that I be loved and so exert myself.
And it suffices you from me that I love, and exert my all.
