وَلرُبَّand many a بارقةlightning flash سَهِرتَyou stayed awake لَهاfor it
وَلرُبَّ بارقة سَهِرتَ لَها
وَسَقىand watered بلادlands سواكsomeone other than you وابلُهاits downpour
وَسَقى بلاد سواك وابلُها
And many a lightning flash have you stayed awake for,
A lightning flash kept you awake through the night
And for many a lightning flash you kept a sleepless watch,
yet its downpour watered another's lands.
While it watered other lands with its rain
While its heavy rain watered lands other than your own.
