إِذاif ماan emphatic particle ماتَdies بَعضُكa part of you فابكِthen weep for بَعضاًa part
إِذا ما ماتَ بَعضُك فابكِ بَعضاً
فانّfor indeed البعضone part منto بَعضٍanother part قَريبclose
فانّ البعض من بَعضٍ قَريب
If a part of you dies, then weep for that part,
If a part of you dies, then weep for a part,
for one part is close to another.
For truly, one part is near to another.
يمنّينيgives me hope الطَبيبُthe physician شِفاءًhealing عَينيmy eye
يمنّيني الطَبيبُ شِفاءً عَيني
وَهَلand is there غَيرُother than الإِلَهِGod لَهاfor it طَبيبa physician
وَهَل غَيرُ الإِلَهِ لَها طَبيب
The physician gives me hope of healing my eye,
The physician promises me a cure for my eye,
but is there any physician for it other than God?
