يا معدنَ الحُسنِ ودِيباجَهُ
ياO قَمَرَmoon اللَّيلِthe night وشمسَand sun النَّهارْthe day
يا قَمَرَ اللَّيلِ وشمسَ النَّهارْ
O mine of beauty and its brocade,
O essence of beauty and its attire
O moon of the night and sun of the day,
O moon of the night and sun of the day
ياO صنماًan idol يعبدهworships him عاشقٌa lover
يا صنماً يعبده عاشقٌ
ليسthere is no لهfor him ممّاfrom what يُلاقيhe faces فرارْescape
ليس له ممّا يُلاقي فرارْ
O idol whom a lover worships,
O idol worshipped by a lover
He has no escape from what he faces.
