هو البدر إلا أن فيه بدائعاً

من الحسن ليست في هلالٍ ولا بدرِ

He is the full moon, except that within him are marvels

He is the full moon, though he has wondrous beauty

Of beauty found in neither crescent nor full moon.

Not found in any crescent moon or full moon

وينظر في وجه القبيح بوجهه

وينظر في وجه القبيح بوجهه

فيكشف حسناً باقياً آخر الدهرِ

فيكشف حسناً باقياً آخر الدهرِ

And he looks upon the face of the ugly one with his own face,

And he looks upon an ugly face with his face

Thus revealing a beauty that lasts until the end of time.

Revealing lasting beauty until the end of time
