أرِبَتhas deteriorated مودَّتُكمyour affection علىover الأيّامِthe days
أرِبَت مودَّتُكم على الأيّامِ
فَتَرَhas weakened الإخاءُbrotherhood لفترةbecause of the weakening of الإسلامِIslam
فَتَرَ الإخاءُ لفترة الإسلامِ
Your affection has deteriorated with the passing days.
Brotherhood has waned with the waning of Islam.
وإذاand when أضاعsquander الناسُpeople ذِمَّةَthe covenant of دينهمtheir faith
وإذا أضاع الناسُ ذِمَّةَ دينهم
لمnot يحفظواthey are safeguarded بمودةٍby affection وذِمامِand covenant
لم يحفظوا بمودةٍ وذِمامِ
And when people squander the covenant of their faith,
they will not be safeguarded by affection or covenant.
لوif أنهاthat it were دارُthe abode of المقامpermanent residence لَعُدِّلَتit would have been made just
لو أنها دارُ المقام لَعُدِّلَت
لكنهاbut it خُلِقتwas created لغيرfor other than مقامِa lasting stay
لكنها خُلِقت لغير مقامِ
Were it a permanent abode, it would have been made just;
but it was created for no lasting stay.
