فِك في الحبِّ مثل قلَّة صبري
O you of little fairness, the scant fairness
you show in love is like my scant patience.

Do not blame me, if your pardon has no room for me,
for my breast growing tight with longing in love.

Every excuse I offer you is a sin in your eyes;
so I am forever apologizing for my excuses.
