  1. خاف الملال إذا طالت إقامتُه

    فصار يظهر أحياناً ويحتجبُ

    He feared boredom should his stay grow long,

    So he would appear at times and hide.

  2. كأنه حين يبدو من مطالعِهِ

    صبّ يقبِّلِ حبّاً وهو يرتقبُ

    As though, when he appears from his rising places,

    He were a lovesick lover kissing a beloved while keeping watch.
