ولا خلا منك روحي لا ولا بدني

ولا خلا منك روحي لا ولا بدني

كُلّي بكُلِّك مشغول ومُرتَهَنُ

كُلّي بكُلِّك مشغول ومُرتَهَنُ

Never has my soul been empty of you—no, nor my body.

Nor has my soul been empty of you—no, nor my body.

All of me is absorbed in all of you, held captive.

All of me is absorbed in all of you, and held in pledge.

يا واحد الحسن مالي منك مذ علقت

يا واحد الحسن مالي منك مذ علقت

روحي بروحك إلا الشوق والحزَن

روحي بروحك إلا الشوق والحزَن

O peerless in beauty, what have I had from you, since became entwined

O peerless in beauty, I have had nothing from you since the binding

my soul with yours, save longing and sorrow?

Of my soul to your soul, save longing and sorrow.

نورٌ تولَّد من شمسٍ ومن قمر

نورٌ تولَّد من شمسٍ ومن قمر

حتى تكامل فيه القدُّ والغُصُنُ

حتى تكامل فيه القدُّ والغُصُنُ

My light was born of a sun and of a moon,

A light born of a sun and a moon,

until within it the graceful stature and bough attained perfection.

Till stature and bough attained perfection in him.
