والحُرُّand the noble man يُغضيoverlooks faults ويعفوand pardons وهوwhile he مُعتَرِفُacknowledges
والحُرُّ يُغضي ويعفو وهو مُعتَرِفُ
The people of love are those who, when implored, show compassion.
And the noble man overlooks and pardons, while acknowledging the fault.

And reconciliation is better, and overlooking faults is a noble deed.
And fidelity brings honor to a young man's character.

Punish us as you wish, except with abandonment; we shall accept it.
For abandonment brings ruin to the brethren of love.

Where are generosity and kindness—where are they both?
And in this and that you are beyond what we can describe.
