وأعجبُand more astonishing منthan جفائكyour coldness ليtoward me وعسريand my hardship
وأعجبُ من جفائك لي وعسري
ويسركand your ease وارتفاعكand your rise وانخفاضيand my decline
ويسرك وارتفاعك وانخفاضي
And more astonishing than your coldness toward me and my hardship,
More wondrous than your disdain and my hardship
And your ease, your rise, and my decline,
Is your ease, loftiness, and my lowness
سروريmy delight أنthat تدومcontinue لكfor you اللياليthe nights
سروري أن تدوم لك الليالي
بماwith what تهوىyou desire كأنيas though I عنكwith you راضِpleased
بما تهوى كأني عنك راضِ
Is my delight that the nights should go on for you
My joy is that nights last for you
As you desire, as though I were pleased with you.
With what you desire, as if I were pleased
