ولو جَمَل السقاية لقبَّوه
بمعشوقٍas a beloved تحرّىit would seek أخذَtaking روحيmy soul
بمعشوقٍ تحرّى أخذَ روحي
And even if they dubbed the water-carrying camel
Even if the water bearer were a camel they would kiss him,
a beloved, it would seek to take my soul.
