وتَعاتُبُand mutual reproach الإخوانthe brothers فيماin what بينهمbetween them
وتَعاتُبُ الإخوان فيما بينهم
بعثٌa spur علىto الإجلالreverence والإكرامِand honor
بعثٌ على الإجلال والإكرامِ
And brothers’ mutual reproach among themselves
Brothers reproach each other
is a spur to reverence and honor.
It inspires reverence and respect
لولاwere it not for اعترافيmy acknowledgment باعترافكof your acknowledgment فيregarding الذيthat which
لولا اعترافي باعترافك في الذي
تأتيyou do وتتركand leave undone ماnot أتاكreached you ملاميmy reproach
تأتي وتترك ما أتاك ملامي
Were it not for my acknowledgment of your acknowledgment regarding what
If I didn't admit as you admitted
you do and leave undone, my reproach would not have reached you.
