I am a stranger, even though I find myself in my homeland,

when you are absent from me, O Abu al-Hasan.

My heart gave me a revelation when it told me

that there would be relief for me from that sorrow.

By God, my soul shall find rest with no one

until my solace returns to his homelands.

So it is, even if bodies journey once more,

in truth, while the souls are bound by one tether.

Transmigration of souls left me the day he bade me farewell,

and he departed bearing two souls in one body.
