I am too weak with sickness to complain of sickness.

And what ails me almost takes pity on what ails me.

I have no patience; how can I be patient with you?

And haughtiness is your habit, and self-abasement mine.

So, in casting off the reproacher, I cast off my composure.

And I donned the robe of sickness beneath my clothes.

Do not dilute my cup, for my tears

Are enough, and more than enough, to dilute my drink.
