ياO عَذوليmy reproacher كُفَّcease عنfrom عَذَلِيreproaching me
يا عَذولي كُفَّ عن عَذَلِي
إنَّindeed قلبيmy heart عنكaway from you فيin شُغُلpreoccupation
إنَّ قلبي عنك في شُغُل
O my reproacher, cease reproaching me.
Indeed, my heart is too preoccupied to heed you.
فأناfor I am الراضيcontent بهwith him حَكَمَاًas judge
فأنا الراضي به حَكَمَاً
فيin الذيwhat يَقْضِيhe decrees عليّagainst me وليand in my favor
في الذي يَقْضِي عليّ ولي
For I am content with him as judge
In whatever he decrees against me or in my favor.
هوَhe فيin حِلٍّabsolution وفيand in سَعَةٍfreedom
هوَ في حِلٍّ وفي سَعَةٍ
لاnot يخافُhe fears الإثْمَsin منfrom قِبَليmy side
لا يخافُ الإثْمَ من قِبَلي
He is absolved and at liberty;
He fears no sin on my account.
وَيْحَalas for مَنone who طَلَّshed with impunity الهوىlove دَمَهhis blood
وَيْحَ مَن طَلَّ الهوى دَمَه
فَغَدَاand so he began يشكوhe complains إلىto طلَلِa ruined campsite
فَغَدَا يشكو إلى طلَلِ
Alas for him whose blood love has shed with impunity,
And who then began complaining to a ruined campsite.
