وإنسية زارت مع النوم مضجعي

فعانقت غصن البان منها إلى الفجر
And a mortal maiden visited my bed as I slept;
And a feminine one visited me with sleep in my bed
So I embraced her—a bān-tree bough—until dawn.
She embraced the branch of sweet basil from her to dawn

I ask her, “Where is the sash?”—she had come by night,
I asked her, where is the scarf when she walked away
Unadorned by it, yet wafting fragrance.
Revealing it, perfuming the breeze

إلى معصمي لما تقلقل في خصري
So she said, gesturing toward the bracelet, “I moved it
She said, she moved the bracelet
To my wrist when it grew loose around my waist.”
To my wrist when it rustled at my waist
