قَسيمةُ عِطرٍ تحتَ قَطرٍ يَصوبُها
A salutation, like the breath of gardens, mingled
A greeting like the breaths of gardens, mingled with
with a scented breeze beneath rain pouring down upon them.
a casket’s perfume beneath rain that showers them.

The moist breeze trails its skirts among them,
The moist breeze trails its skirts through them,
taking as recompense what their bosoms had clasped shut.
in recompense for what lies buttoned within their bosoms.

It strides proudly through the valley of lavender, bearing within it
And it sways through the valley of lavender, laden with
blossoms from there, their fragrance now redoubled.
blossoms from it whose fragrance has doubled.

Thus, in perfume from Dārin, of its fragrant wafts there is
So, of its wafts, the fragrance from Darin bears
a tale, whenever the winds betray it as they blow.
a tale, whenever the winds’ blowing reveals it.

To the exalted Sadidi assembly—indeed, I
the reciter of the virtues of its glory and the orator who proclaims them—
am surely the teller of its glory’s merits and their orator.

To an assembly that souls long to meet,

where lofty honor is guarded and defended, and bountiful gifts

are lavished, and the market of excellence displays its wares.
