The parched seekers of bounty came to drink, then departed

With thirst quenched; sweet to them was your drinking place.

And I came to your pool, thirsty and rushing forward,

But you returned my bucket, its worn leather rattling.

And I see you rain upon one side rather than another,

While my land's expanse lies barren of rain from your sky.

Is it because of my high standing that you delay meeting my need,

Or have I no hope of any favor from you?
