The greedy man strives, though his provision is allotted.
The eager strives though his provision is preordained
And greed's fertile pasture is noxious.
And eagerness, its pasture is lush and shady

the idle young man would die destitute.
The lazy lad would not have died destitute

Destiny has preceded all that will transpire
so wisdom lies in entrusting matters and submitting.
So from it desist, and submit obediently

The youth's avarice is cause for his deprivation
and his pursuit of what cannot be attained is ill fortune.
His pursuits were unattainable, ominous

for the noble man sometimes stumbles and rises.
For the noble stumble at times, and rise
