وَأَناand I واياكمwith you (plural) كَمرءlike a man مُعَذبٍtormented
وَأَنا واياكم كَمرء مُعَذبٍ
بِأَبناءby sons سوءٍwickedness يُظهِرونthey display عُقوقاًfilial disobedience
بِأَبناء سوءٍ يُظهِرون عُقوقاً
With you all, I am like a man tormented
And with you, I am like a man tormented
by wicked sons who openly display filial defiance:
By wicked sons who show filial disobedience.
إِذاwhenever رامَhe seeks يَهديهمto guide them طَريقthe path رَشادهمtheir right conduct
إِذا رامَ يَهديهم طَريق رَشادهم
أَبَوهthey reject it وَقالواand they say لاnot نَراهُwe see it طَريقاa path
أَبَوه وَقالوا لا نَراهُ طَريقا
whenever he seeks to show them the path to their own right guidance,
Whenever he seeks to guide them along the path of right conduct,
they reject it and say, “We do not see it as a path.”
They reject it and say, 'We do not see it as a path.'
