the two states of my hardship and my ease:

You are all the same, you cowards.

لُؤماءٌ جُبَناء

لُؤماءٌ جُبَناء

تَحسِبون البُخل تَجرا

تَحسِبون البُخل تَجرا

ignoble cowards,

You think stinginess brings profit -

you take miserliness for trade.

Men who are women,

فَرِجالٌ كَنِساءٍ

فَرِجالٌ كَنِساءٍ

وَغِنىً يَشبه فَقرا

وَغِنىً يَشبه فَقرا

So men are like women,

And wealth that resembles poverty.

and wealth resembles poverty.
