سواكَ لسهمِ العُلى لنْ يريشا

سواكَ لسهمِ العُلى لنْ يريشا

فنسألُ ربَّ العُلى أنْ تعيشا

فنسألُ ربَّ العُلى أنْ تعيشا

None but you will fletch the arrow of glory.

None but you is worthy of the arrow of glory,

So we ask the Lord of the heights that you may live.

So we ask the Lord of glory to keep you alive.

من النّاسِ بالبرِّ صدتْ الكرامَ

من النّاسِ بالبرِّ صدتْ الكرامَ

وباليأْسِ في البَرِّ صدْتَ الوحوشا

وباليأْسِ في البَرِّ صدْتَ الوحوشا

With kindness you captured the noble among men,

By your kindness you repelled the generous from people,

and with despair you hunted wild beasts in the open country.

And by despair in kindness you repelled the beasts.

وكم سرتَ من مصرَ نحو العريشِ

وكم سرتَ من مصرَ نحو العريشِ

فهدَّمتَ للمشركينَ العُروشا

فهدَّمتَ للمشركينَ العُروشا

And how often you marched from Egypt toward al-Arish,

How often you traveled from Egypt towards Al-Arish,

then demolished the polytheists' thrones!

Destroying for the polytheists their palaces.

سراياكَ تَبعثُ قدَّامها

سراياكَ تَبعثُ قدَّامها

من الرُّعبِ نحو الأعادي جيوشا

من الرُّعبِ نحو الأعادي جيوشا

Your detachments send ahead of them

Your armies send ahead of them,

armies of terror toward the foes.

Armies that fill enemies with dread.

ويومَ حماةَ تركتَ العداةَ

ويومَ حماةَ تركتَ العداةَ

كما طيّرتْ بالفلا الرِّيحُ رِيشا

كما طيّرتْ بالفلا الرِّيحُ رِيشا

And on the day of Hama you left the foes

And the day of Hama you left the enemies

like feathers the wind sent flying across the wilderness.

As the wind scatters feathers with the arrow.
